A simple isolator connects two batteries; a DC to DC charger actually charges the auxiliary properly. That difference matters on modern vehicles with smart alternators, and it matters more with lithium, which will never reach full charge on alternator voltage alone.

This 40A three-stage charger takes whatever the alternator gives and delivers a correct charge profile to flooded, AGM, gel or lithium batteries, with selectable output voltages to match. Efficiency runs above 96%, standby draw is under 3mA, and precise under-voltage protection means you do not need a separate isolator in the system.

It is built for where it lives – under-bonnet heat and constant vibration – with a heat sink designed to keep it cool. Add the optional start assist kit and output rises to 80A.
