This is the charger to build a touring power system around, because it handles both sources of charge automatically. With the engine running it draws from the alternator; park up and switch off, and it changes over to your solar panels without you touching anything.

The solar regulator is built in and handles panels from 50W to 400W, so you do not need a separate MPPT unit in the system. Charging starts on a delay after ignition, letting the vehicle start cleanly before the charger begins pulling current.

Full polymer encapsulation gives it an IP67 rating against water and dust, and it is compatible with smart alternators as well as lithium, gel, AGM and flooded batteries. Pre-wired for battery monitors with a built-in LED indicator.
