An MPPT regulator extracts noticeably more from a solar panel than a basic PWM unit, particularly in heat and partial shade, by continuously tracking the panel's maximum power point rather than simply clamping voltage.

This 20A controller regulates charging current to the battery for the most efficient charge, and protects against both overcharging and current backfeeding from the battery to the panel overnight.

It runs on 12V or 24V systems with a battery voltage range of 9V to 32V, and supports lithium, LiFePO4, sealed lead acid, gel and calcium batteries. Maximum PV input is 260W on 12V or 520W on 24V.

Note that this regulator is specified for use with rigid and semi-flexible solar panels rather than the portable folding kits, which include their own regulators.
